The Gilbert Method builds success.
We make learning fast, easy, and fun. Our curriculums integrate cutting edge research with the clinical knowledge gained from Dr. Gilbert's many years of real-world teaching experience. The Gilbert Method engages students in mental (cognitive) training activities designed to improve all language skills.

Reading
At the Workshop, we prefer a balanced instructional approach (phonics and comprehension) in teaching reading because current research shows that this approach works best. The Gilbert Method uses teacher modeling and guided student practice before engaging students in independent learning activities.

Our curriculum includes instruction in phonemic segmentation and phonics (with spelling), reading comprehension, vocabulary, critical thinking, writing, and memory enhancement. We teach academic speed reading to upper level students and adults.

Writing
Our students learn writing techniques from our proprietary writing program and from text models. The Workshop writing curriculum focuses on academic essay writing and analytical thinking. Our students learn to write a thesis statement and develop an argument. As part of the writing program, we also teach grammar, usage, and writing mechanics.
